Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Billing Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections for our homecare services.
Responsibilities:
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Verify insurance coverage and submit claims to various payers (Medicare, Medi-Cal, private insurance).
- Follow up on denied claims and work with insurance companies to resolve any issues.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing data in the electronic health record system.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports on billing and collections.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage.
- Assist with the collection of outstanding balances.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline billing operations.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in billing and collections.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
