I'm looking for a writer to help me with iDriveSoCal.com. We cover automotive news and events throughout Southern California.

You'll be updating evergreen pages. Writing articles from press releases. And creating content from information submitted by our audience and partners. That includes listings within our directory and stories submitted by our audience.

All writing is for online consumption. So you need to write with search engine optimization in mind. This includes writing URLs, H1s, H2s, H3s etc. Plus meta titles and descriptions. Also adding categories and tags when relevant.

Using AI to assist in writing is fine. But you're responsible for the work. So you cannot rely on it only.

As part of creating content you'll also be managing and adding images. Which includes assuring they're formatted with titles and alternate text.

Mastery of English is essential - both speaking and writing. As are proper usage of grammar and punctuation.

Wordpress is where work will begin. And within a couple of months we'll be moving to a custom site we're building.

Tools we use include GA4, GSC, Ahrefs and more. You need to be able to navigate, use, and discuss those as well as others.

This is a full-time opportunity. We'll communicate live a lot as you get up to speed, using Google Meet and Zoom. So you need a rock solid internet connection. And regular business hours during Pacific Standard Time.
