We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Consultant to design, implement, and maintain EDI systems and processes. The EDI Consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration of electronic data exchange between our business systems and the business systems of our clients and our logistics partners. This role involves technical expertise, analytical skills, and a customer-focused approach to improve data exchange efficiency and accuracy.
The Consulting Contract will be hourly as need to configure and test new EDI connections and to troubleshoot and fix intermittent issues with existing EDI connections.

Key Responsibilities
1. EDI System Implementation and Maintenance:
o Design and develop EDI solutions to integrate with internal and external systems.
o Configure, test, and deploy EDI transactions in compliance with business requirements and industry standards.
o Monitor and troubleshoot EDI processes to ensure optimal system performance.
2. Business Partner Integration:
o Collaborate with trading partners to set up and maintain EDI connections.
o Manage mapping and translation of EDI documents (e.g., 810, 850, 856, 997).
o Provide technical support for onboarding new EDI partners and maintaining existing relationships.
3. Data Analysis and Optimization:
o Analyze data workflows to identify inefficiencies or discrepancies in EDI processes.
o Develop solutions to enhance the accuracy and speed of electronic data exchange.
o Generate reports and dashboards to monitor EDI transactions and system performance.
4. Collaboration and Training:
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and customer service, to understand EDI requirements.
o Provide training and technical support to internal staff and trading partners on EDI processes and systems.
5. Compliance and Security:
o Ensure EDI processes comply with industry standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and company policies.
o Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive data during electronic exchanges.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in EDI system development, implementation, and support.
• Familiarity with EDI standards such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, and XML.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in EDI tools and platforms (e.g., NetSuite, SPS Commerce, etc.).
• Experience with data mapping, translation, and integration using EDI-specific tools.
• Familiarity with database management systems and file transfer protocols (FTP, AS2, SFTP).
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
• Customer-focused mindset and ability to build strong partner relationships.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a consumer products with retail partners with EDI processes.
• Certification in EDI platforms or relevant technologies.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with EDI.
