Job Posting: Full-Time Video Editor & Thumbnail Designer for Travel YouTube Channel

About the Channel
We're on a mission to transform travel moments into stories, one vlog at a time. Whether you're planning your next adventure or looking to explore the world from home, our channel offers something for everyone.

About Me
I’m a business owner based in the USA, specializing in business marketing and consulting. I take dedicated time each year to travel the world and document my experiences. I’ve recently launched this YouTube channel to share my travels and inspire others. My destinations include Dubai, Nepal, Mount Everest, Beijing, Seoul, Vietnam, Japan, and many more. Each trip provides material for dozens of vlogs, all pre-planned to capture the best experiences.

Due to my business commitments, I’m looking for a talented Video Editor & Thumbnail Designer to bring this footage to life and help me release engaging content regularly.

Role Overview
This is a full-time position for a skilled editor and designer who will work closely with me to create cohesive and visually compelling stories from raw travel footage. Each project is structured with an outline, title, and thumbnail concept, making the editing process focused and efficient.

Weekly Content Goals
Long-Form Videos: 1 (10–30 minutes each)
Short-Form Videos: 4-6 (15–60 seconds each). Taken from the long-form.
Thumbnails: Custom-designed thumbnails for each long-form video
Bloopers/Deleted Scenes: For each long form video, I need a rough cut of bloopers and deleted scenes that did not make the final video. This will be used for bonus content for paid subscribers.

Video Project Details

Raw Footage Assets for each video:
Approximately 1–3 hours per project (long form video) on a GoPro with a microphone, 8:7 format raw travel footage.
Travel iphone footage and stills.
GoPro filmed lighted home studio commentary about each video. For voiceover and added face to camera content.
Each raw footage file will be named, labeled and organized in a system I designed to stay organized and efficient.

Outline: Each project (long form video) will have a detailed outline with a loose script and design ideas for the story and visuals. I used these outlines when filming the raw footage and commentary.

Platform: Long-form content will be posted on YouTube; short-form content will go on various social media platforms (YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok etc.).

What I’m Looking For
I’m seeking a creative partner who can offer not just editing skills but also design insights, storytelling input, and growth ideas for the channel. This role is for someone who’s excited to collaborate and innovate as we build a unique brand.

Requirements
Video Editing Experience: Proven experience in both long- and short-form video editing, ideally for travel or vlogs.
Thumbnail Design: Expertise in graphic design for engaging, eye-catching thumbnails.
Passion for Travel & Storytelling: A love for transforming raw footage into immersive visual experiences.
Creative & Collaborative: Someone who can contribute design ideas, storytelling insights, and brand growth strategies.
Experience in YouTube & Social Media Platforms: Understanding of YouTube algorithms, SEO, and social media dynamics is a plus.
Organization: We will have hours of raw footage that need to be organized properly so we can get as much content as possible from each destination.

Why Join?
This is my first YouTube channel, but I bring extensive knowledge of branding, marketing, and a well-defined long-term business plan to the table. I’m fully committed to the channel’s growth and am investing in this role from day one. This position is more than a job; it’s a partnership opportunity for someone ready to make an impact.

Please respond with a biography or statement describing why you are interested, your qualifications and portfolio of previous relevant work. Include both video and thumbnail examples of your work.
