Shopify Developer

We’re looking for a Shopify Developer with speed optimization experience, to join our Shopify startup. You’ll play a crucial role helping optimize our clients’ stores for better speed and performance.

We’re a friendly bunch and want to work with similarly optimistic, friendly people.

Each job will have a specific set of optimisation tasks to complete such as:

- Minify HTML, CSS & JS Files
- Defer and async Javascript & CSS delivery
- App analysis & old app code removal
- Compression of the page code
- Optimization of Images
- Lazy loading setup
- Dynamic scaling of Images
- Reduce number of HTTP requests

Before each job you will analyse the client store using Google Page Speed Insights and GT Metrix and take screenshots of the results. At the end of the job you will do the same again to show the improvements in site speed achieved.

Requirements:

- Highly experienced in HTML, CSS, Javascript and Liquid
- Solid amount of experience developing for Shopify
- Previous experience optimising Shopify stores preferred
- Good written English
- Courteous, professional with good communication skills
- We value communication and openness - replying promptly, raising issues, letting us know if you have time off planned etc
- Adaptable and proactive - e.g. if you think something can be done better you will let us know

The job will start part time - a few jobs per month - and build up.

You will be paid $75-$100 per completed job depending on the tasks involved, and can take as many jobs as you want, so potentially no limit on what you can earn.

We will build tools such as automated reporting to help you work quickly.

About us:
Previously founded and sold a successful Shopify store. We now run a growing SaaS business and are looking to build a service business (this Shopify optimisation service) alongside it.

The business will specialise in Shopify speed optimisation only. We want to build a trusted brand in the Shopify ecosystem, and aim to spend a significant amount on advertising over the next 12 months to eventually serve hundreds of clients each month.

You will join at the start of the company’s founding, with the opportunity to shape the role and grow with us. For example, consulting on processes so you can complete jobs quickly, and we can scale up smoothly.
