Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with expertise in payroll management to join our team. This role will involve managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, processing payroll, and ensuring timely and accurate quarterly payroll filings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and payroll systems, be adept at multitasking, and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Maintain employee records related to payroll, such as tax forms and direct deposit details.
Address and resolve any payroll discrepancies or inquiries in a timely manner.
Quarterly Payroll Filings:
Prepare and file all required federal, state, and local payroll tax returns.
Stay updated on changes in payroll tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Generate and submit W-2s, 1099s, and other required payroll documents annually.
Bookkeeping Duties:
Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and bank deposits.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
Produce monthly and quarterly financial reports for management review.
Financial Accuracy and Compliance:
Ensure all financial records are up-to-date and comply with legal requirements.
Assist with preparing budgets and forecasts as needed.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll tax regulations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and addressing client queries.
