Intake/Paralegal for US Law Firm

Consumer Law firm focused in the areas of bankruptcy, debt negotiation, estate planning, probate and real estate based in the United States (Seattle, WA) seeks paralegal and intake specialist with experience in chapter 7 and chapter 13 petition preparation. Applicant should be a self starter and have experience answering phones, scheduling, comfortable with Adobe pro, MS word and Google. Experience with bankruptcy preparation software such as Best Case, CIN Compass, Next Chapter or Jubilee and how to prepare a bankruptcy petition using bankruptcy software a plus.

Ideal applicant should have a solid work ethic, strong attention to detail, able to multitask, good organizational skills, able to follow instructions and listen to feedback, proficient in English both speaking and writing, and looking to help consumers in financial distress and help with other matters as they are assigned.

Job entails taking data provided from client and inputting it into the bankruptcy software to create a bankruptcy petition. This includes obtaining a credit report, listing all assets, debts, income and expenses of a client. Knowing which documents are missing or additional information that is needed and requesting this information from the client if needed. Attorney can provide guidance.

Law firm handles other matters in Debt Negotiation, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate, Other opportunities may be offered as needed.

This position may involve working directly with clients and acting as the right hand to the primary attorney as needed. If client contact is needed, professional telephone demeanor would be required. You will be responsible for managing deadlines, drafting legal documents with attorney guidance, drafting correspondence, and additional administrative duties as assigned. Candidates with a documented history of strong customer service, proven office skills, marketing/social media, SEO and a willingness and ability to learn quickly is a bonus.
