Hours: Full-Time (40 hours/week), EST

Job Description:

As the Property Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing day-to-day accounting tasks for property-related transactions, bridging our real estate and accounting teams. Your expertise will not only contribute to the financial health of our properties but also drive the success of our real estate ventures.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Conduct precise and timely accounting procedures for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, ensuring all financial records are up to date and accurate.
Transaction Handling: Manage journal entries related to property sales and acquisitions, ensuring thorough verification and reconciliation of cash transactions.
Compliance and Audits: Oversee intercompany transactions, maintaining rigorous standards for audit compliance, including preparation of detailed reports, schedules, and support during internal control tests.
System Integration: Facilitate the seamless migration of data between PropertyWare and NetSuite, adhering to a strict accounting close schedule.
Analytical Support: Provide in-depth analysis of property transactions, validating their accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulations. Your insights will contribute to our continuous improvement efforts.
Project Support: Assist management with ad-hoc research projects and presentations, offering your expertise to drive strategic decisions.
Reconciliation and Reporting: Prepare meticulous balance sheet reconciliations and financial schedules, focusing on accurate amortization, accruals, and adjustments.
Collaboration: Work closely with property managers and the internal real estate team to ensure financial data is presented accurately and effectively.


Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in property management, real estate, fixed asset accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with NetSuite and Salesforce is required.
Familiarity with PropertyWare or similar property management tools/software is preferred but not required.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex financial challenges with precision.
Meticulous approach to work, ensuring all financial data is handled with the utmost accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet stringent deadlines, balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
