Script Writer + Content Research

I'm looking for a natural storyteller who loves Reddit style stories. I have a YT channel where we retell stories about relationship drama from any kind of relationship.

I prefer working with someone who already loves this type of content, and understands it. I am just starting this channel and am looking to have 5 scripts made per week for the channel. We want the videos to be around 20-40 minutes each, so we need a good amount of stories researched and gathered for the show.

It is a fairly simple idea: Use a question to base your research off of, hunt down stories that answer the question, compose the stories into a flow that would be interesting to listen to, retell the stories in first person with a narrator opening and transitioning between each story.

I am looking for a very specific type of person:
- Self-motivated
I want to give you instructions and want to see that you will do the work without me having to hold your hand all the time. At the beginning I expect questions, but as you learn the role and create your scripts, I want to see you create on your own, knowing that you will be paid for your effort and the quality of your scripts, and that I want you to do the work and write without me constantly having to follow up with you.

- Team player
I want someone who is willing and able to hop on zoom and be face on camera, willing to brainstorm ideas and collaborate. If you are not comfortable on zoom, DO NOT APPLY. I do not want to work with anyone who is unwilling to meet with me.

- High communicator
I expect quick communication. If I message you, I expect to hear from you within a few hours, even on the weekends. I am not a micro manager, but I do not appreciate messaging with questions and ideas and not hearing back from my team for days. That is unacceptable and I am not okay with it. Most of my communication is brainstorming, and quick touch points. If you are unwilling to work with someone who wants ongoing communication, DO NOT APPLY.

- Creative + Collaborative
I want you to be creative with this role, have fun with it. I'm looking for someone who can learn from the current trends and see how we can make our content even better. I want to hear your ideas for making our content the best on YouTube, and see you implement things to make it so.

- Attentive to Details
I pay close attention to details, and I want my team too as well. Meaning, it all matters, the small things and the big things. I can easily tell if people are not attentive to details, just in how you respond to this job listing. When I give details about what I'm looking for, I want you to understand what I'm saying. When you research, study our competitors, or are writing your scripts, I'd like to trust that you are connecting the dots and making high quality stories that create engaging scripts and valuable content our audience will want to listen to.

- Fast Mover + Dedicated to Quality
I want 5 scripts to turn into videos per week, which means I need you to be faster than my video editor. I want to have a backlog of stories as soon as possible, so I need someone who is excellent at script writing, story telling, and moving fast. These stories are relatively simple to write, so I want you to move FAST to pump out as many 20-40 minute long scripts as you can, right off the bat.

- Long Term Player
I want a team that sticks around. My ideal scriptwriter is available right now, and will be available long term. I want to work with you and grow with you for years to come. If you meet all of the qualifications above, and we work well together, this will be a very long term relationship. My goal is to monetize my channel and while continuing to grow it, start a new channel. I'd like to think my team could handle two channels at the same time, which means more work, more pay, and more incentives.

- Knows and uses SEO
Although SEO is not the only driver here, it is important to me that you understand SEO, you can research topics so we have the highest chance of getting visibility with our content. I don't want to create content just to create it, I want to grow an audience. So, I want to see you research trending topics that we can use in our stories and I'd expect you to help come up with the best titles for our videos, and video descriptions to put on YT.

- Proficient in English
This role will require you to understand conversational English. The scripts need to be written that way, not postured or professional.

- Relies on your own Skill
Chatgpt and other AI tools are ok to use as brainstorming tools, but I do not want them to write the scripts. I can tell if you use Chatgpt/AI for your scripts. That is not what I'm hiring you to do. I could make scripts in ChatGPT if I wanted to. I need someone to have their own skill of storytelling to be able to make these scripts, not using ChatGPT/AI.

- From reading my post here, what are some ideas you have about making killer stories that are unique and better than other reddit style channels?
- What is your experience with SEO? How do you use it and how do you think SEO can help us create viral videos?
- Give me some samples of your writing, even if it's not "reddit" style stories, I want to read stories that YOU wrote, from your own research, creativity, etc. Give me 3-5 stories you are THE MOST PROUD OF.
- What is your availability for starting to work together?
- Would you agree to 2-3 sample scripts so I can see if we are a fit or not to work together?
- Are you able to create a script or two a day? I'm willing to start off our relationship paying $25USD per script. This includes the SEO and research for each script. They must meet the criteria above- high quality, engaging, interesting, written well, and SEO optimized. If you hit the mark, and are able to produce the quantity and quality of scripts I'm looking for, I will increase your per script rate at certain thresholds. We can talk about that on your job interview.
