Introduction


We are a progressive, growing mid-tier accounting firm located in Brisbane Australia.

We are looking to hire a Senior Payroll officer in a full-time position in a work from home role to join our offshore Philippines team.

Experience/Education:

- 5+ years in a BPO, Australian Accounting Firm or other Work From Home environment

- Experience in Australian Business Accounting/Bookkeeping/Payroll/ BAS

- Must have Australian payroll experience

- Senior Bookkeeper experience

- Be familiar with multiple Australian Awards

- Proven experience in managing multiple payrolls

- Prior experience in the accounting industry will be highly regarded

- Accounting degree or equivalent qualification

Key Tasks:

The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll processes. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. The Senior Payroll Officer will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.


Preparing and processing payroll

Maintaining relevant payroll information, including leave, child support and salary sacrificing.

Completing legislative requirements, including PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation and Workcover (across Multiple States) keeping everything above board.

Assisting employees with payroll related queries.

Completing month-end tasks

Contributing to process and system improvements, ensuring payroll runs smoothly.

Reconciling and balancing payroll accounts at the end of month and end of year.


Software:

Experience with software which integrates timesheets

Experience with Tanda or Deputy highly regarded

Xero advanced payroll software experience is required

Xero payroll certified
