Job Summary:

Are you a dog lover who sees dogs as family members, not just pets? Do you have an expert understanding of dog breeds, behaviors, and life as a dog parent? iHeartDogs.com is looking for a passionate Dog Content Editor & Image Curator who knows how to bring words to life with images that engage readers, spark emotion, and inspire clicks.

In this role, you’ll review content our writers created, ensuring it aligns with our mission of rescuing dogs and celebrating the bond between humans and their furry friends. While the writers select initial featured images and gallery images, your expertise will often be required to replace featured images with more engaging visuals that better fit the headline or topic. Additionally, you’ll need to be comfortable creating custom ChatGPT prompts to generate engaging, focus-driven content for our audience.

Efficiency is key, as we produce 30-40 new pieces of content per day, and each piece should take no more than 3-10 minutes to edit and prepare.

Key Responsibilities:

- Image Curation: Ensure that the featured image and gallery images align with the content topic, are emotionally engaging, and resonate with our audience. Replace featured images with more suitable alternatives when necessary.
- Image Editing: Resize and optimize images to comply with publishing guidelines while maintaining quality and visual appeal.
- Content Review & Editing: Edit and refine articles written by other team members for accuracy, clarity, and tone, while ensuring adherence to our brand guidelines.
- Efficiency in Workflow: Review and prepare each article within 3-10 minutes to meet our fast-paced publishing schedule.
- Custom ChatGPT Prompts: Create specific prompts that generate high-quality, engaging, and focus-driven content tailored to the headline and audience.
- WordPress Management: Upload and format articles, optimize images, and ensure posts are ready for publishing.
- Collaborate with Writers: Work closely with writers to provide constructive feedback, maintain consistent content quality, and select the most impactful images.
- Stay on Trend: Keep up with dog-related trends, news, and viral content to make informed decisions about images and topics.
- Audience Focus: Understand our audience (primarily dog-loving women) and tailor image choices, edits, and content prompts to their preferences.

What We’re Looking For:

- A deep understanding of dogs, dog breeds, and dog culture.
- A proven eye for selecting attention-grabbing, emotionally impactful images.
- Strong skills in editing and resizing images to meet publishing standards.
- Experience using WordPress for content editing and publishing.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills emphasizing grammar, tone, and flow.
- Comfort and skill in crafting custom ChatGPT prompts for generating compelling content.
- A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for our mission: supporting shelter dogs and promoting dog adoption.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to provide constructive feedback to writers.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing top-notch content.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with online content, blogs, or magazines focused on pets, especially dogs.
- Basic knowledge of image editing tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop) is a plus.
