JOB OVERVIEW

Are you a WordPress wizard with a knack for WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript troubleshooting? Do you love building features and refactoring code like a champ? Well, good news! The Mighty Mo! is on the hunt for an experienced developer to join our team and help us deliver top-notch solutions to our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Troubleshoot existing WordPress, JavaScript, and PHP bugs. Understanding the WordPress template hierarchy and core WordPress coding concepts is a critical part of the role.
* Refactor custom WordPress plugin code using PHP and JavaScript (sometimes rewriting from scratch!).
* Troubleshoot, fix, and update our clients’ WordPress websites. (Don't worry, you’ll work with us, not directly with clients.) Sometimes this troubleshooting will be simple: "Add a new section via Elementor." Other times, it'll be complex troubleshooting such as, "Our calendar isn't loading the correct posts" or "Why isn't our form submitting properly?".
* Collaborate with our internal dev team using GitHub for version control—stash, pull, push, branches, pull requests... you know the drill.
* Scope and tackle small tasks with a quick turnaround (1.5 business days).
* Communicate blockers to our internal team and project manager early and often.
* Learn and adapt to new WordPress technologies. (Because change is the only constant!)
* Understand conceptually how Gutenberg, Full-site editing, and WordPress builders (Elementor, Beaver Builder, etc.) work. You don't need to know all these tools inside and out, but you'll need to be able to explain them at a high level.

What You Need to Bring
* Advanced WordPress plugin development skills using PHP and JavaScript. You’ll be integrating your code into existing systems and sometimes building from scratch.
* GitHub savvy. We’re talking branches, pull requests, and collaborative coding.
* Reliability and responsiveness. Be ready to tackle small tasks within 1.5 business days.
* 10-15 hours/week availability with flexible scheduling. You'll be able to define your timelines for delivering work. Communication daily is required.
* Desire to grow and learn. The WordPress ecosystem evolves constantly, and we’re all about staying ahead of the curve.

Bonus Points For:
* Experience with AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Co-Pilot, etc. FYI: We encourage effective use of AI tools, however, you'll fail if you don't understand WordPress templating, Intermediate javascript, and Intermediate PHP.
