Role Overview:
We are seeking a part-time Content Strategist/Manager to lead the planning, execution, and performance of content across our clients’ channels. Our clients look to us to push boundaries, be more creative, and innovate in their industries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in content marketing strategy and a proven ability to think differently, stay ahead of trends, and collaborate with creators to bring bold ideas to life.
You’ll work closely with content creators (e.g., Smarcomms, designers, or copywriters) to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with client goals while delivering cutting-edge, forward-thinking content. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on strategy and inspiring creative teams to deliver impactful, trendsetting work.
Responsibilities:
1.? ?Strategy Development (40% of role):
Develop content strategies and monthly calendars tailored to each client’s goals, audience, and brand voice.
Research industry trends, emerging platforms, and creative opportunities to craft unique and engaging content ideas.
Identify content themes, formats, and campaigns that support broader marketing objectives and position clients as leaders in their industries.
2.? ?Creator Collaboration (40% of role):
Act as the main point of contact for content creators, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration.
Provide clear and actionable briefs, including tone, style, messaging, and creative direction that inspire standout work.
Review and approve content drafts (e.g., social posts, graphics, blogs) to ensure quality, brand alignment, and strategy execution.
Troubleshoot and refine content to elevate its effectiveness, creativity, and innovation.
3.? ?Performance Tracking & Optimization (20% of role):
Analyze content performance across channels (e.g., social media, blogs) using tools like Google Analytics or Hootsuite.
Generate monthly reports summarizing key metrics and actionable insights for improvement.
Collaborate with creators to implement optimizations based on performance data and ensure clients remain ahead of their competitors.
Key Leadership Expectations:
Content Leadership: Inspire and guide content creators to deliver innovative, creative work aligned with client goals.
Quality Control: Act as the final filter for all content, ensuring everything meets high standards, brand guidelines, and feels fresh and forward-thinking.
Workflow Management: Maintain consistent communication and workflows with creators, ensuring deadlines are met and bottlenecks are avoided.
Creativity and Innovation: Constantly explore new ideas, tools, and trends to ensure content strategies are cutting-edge and impactful.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in content marketing, strategy, or related roles.
Strong understanding of social media, SEO, and content marketing best practices.
Proven experience managing creative teams or content creators, with an emphasis on innovation.
Exceptional communication and project management skills.
Familiarity with tools like Asana, Trello, or Google Workspace for task management.
Experience analyzing content performance metrics and making data-driven recommendations.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Hands-on content creation skills (e.g., copywriting, graphic design).
Experience working with outsourced teams or agencies like Smarcomms.
Knowledge of niche industries with creative, design-focused, or trendsetting audiences.
