Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Virtual Controller to oversee and manage our accounting operations. This role involves working remotely to support the leadership team with accurate financial data, strategic insights, and compliance management. You will lead financial processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, while working closely with a team to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
maintenance.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and analyzing financial statements.
• Provide detailed financial summaries, including profit and loss (P&L) analysis, variance explanations, and balance sheet
reviews.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including IFTA and HUT filings.
• Maintain relationships with external partners, including accounting firms, banks, insurance agents, factoring companies,
and lawyers.
• Manage vehicle registration and ensure trucks and trailers remain compliant.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial and operational performance.
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and operational budgeting.
• Record and reconcile receipts, including cash, checks, ACH, and EFS transactions.
• Provide financial analysis for company projects, cost-saving initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Support audits by preparing and providing necessary accounting information.
• Continuously seek and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.

Growth Path:
• Develop expertise as a controller, eventually evolving into a CFO.
• Take on leadership responsibilities by managing a growing virtual team.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members as we scale.

Key Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Must-Have Qualifications:
• 5–7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
• Experience with multiple entities, and logistics or transportation operations.
• Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), particularly McLeod.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing confidential financial data with professionalism and integrity.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Zoom, QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
• A problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
• High level of motivation, persistence, and a positive attitude.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, forty-to-fifty-hour role, with varying shifts of 8, 10, or 12-hour days, Monday through Friday. Your schedule will vary depending on the workload. Working hours fall between 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM Philippine Time (PHT) or 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). The majority of time, you will be scheduled for a 40 Hour work week, with the ability to make over time pay over 40.
