Director Of SEO
** Job Purpose:
The SEO Team Lead is responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of SEO campaigns, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring the successful implementation of new service packages. This role is pivotal in optimizing processes, enhancing team capabilities, and delivering exceptional SEO results for clients, while continuously improving the operational efficiency of the department.
** Key Responsibilities:
Client Research & Strategy Development:
Conduct comprehensive SEO research for new clients, including competitive analysis and market trends.
Develop baseline strategies for new campaigns and adjust strategies as clients upgrade or add new services.
Analyze existing client websites to determine what to retain, improve, or eliminate in new website builds.
1. Website Structure & Optimization:
Design and define the structure of client websites, providing detailed instructions to web developers regarding menu layouts, H1 and H2 tags, and overall SEOfriendly architecture.
Create content outlines and guidelines for content writers, ensuring SEO best practices are followed in all written materials.
Oversee the integration of SEO elements into website development, ensuring all technical aspects align with campaign goals.
2. Content & GBP Quality Assurance:
Perform quality checks on Google Business Profiles (GBP), ensuring content accuracy, optimization, and compliance with Google’s guidelines.
Review and approve website content before publication, verifying that it meets the required SEO standard.
Ensure the overall quality and effectiveness of SEOrelated outputs from various departments.
3. Strategic ProblemSolving:
Lead the development of strategies to resolve complex SEO issues, such as suspended GBPs, lack of growth, or special client scenarios.
Act as the primary problem-solver for SEO campaign challenges, offering solutions based on uptodate research and industry knowledge.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
Solidify and lead the SEO team by setting clear goals, providing guidance, and ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
Hire, train, and manage tea
Foster a collaborative and high performing team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.
5. SOP & KPI Development:
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the SEO department, ensuring consistent and efficient workflows.
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the SEO team to track progress and performance, aligning them with broader company objectives.
Regularly review and update SOPs and KPIs to reflect changes in the industry and company goals.
6. New Package Implementation & Training:
Gain an in-depth understanding of the newly launched SEO packages and how they integrate into our overall service offering.
Train the SEO team on the details and benefits of the new packages, ensuring they can effectively communicate and implement these offerings for clients.
Monitor the adoption and performance of new packages within the team, providing feedback to enhance their effectiveness.
7. ClickUp Implementation Feedback:
Continuously provide feedback on the recent ClickUp implementation, identifying areas for further improvement and optimization.
Work closely with the operations team to refine ClickUp processes, ensuring the platform effectively supports the SEO team’s workflow.
Document and communicate any necessary adjustments or updates to the team, ensuring smooth operations.
8. Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor the performance of SEO campaigns, making data driven adjustments to improve results.
Prepare detailed reports on campaign performance, including insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Communicate results and strategies to clients, ensuring transparency and understanding of SEO efforts.
**Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Google Analytics Certification:
- Demonstrates proficiency in using Google Analytics to analyze data and derive insights for SEO strategy.
- Google Search Console Training:
- Certification or demonstrated experience in using Google Search Console to monitor and improve website performance.
- SEO Specialization Certification (e.g., from Moz, SEMrush, or HubSpot):
- Validates expertise in SEO practices, including technical, on-page, and off-page optimization.
- Advanced SEO Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of SEO algorithms, ranking factors, and updates (eg. Google’s core updates, E-A-T principles).
- Expertise in on-page, technical SEO, mobile speed optimization, site architecture, and schema markup.
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring SEO teams.
- Ability to set clear goals, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback.
- Experience in fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
** Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Local SEO Experience
- With at least 2-3 years in a leadership role managing Local SEO teams and campaigns.
- A proven track record of Local SEO department management and obtaining successful growth for client accounts in Organic and Maps.
- Experience in the Plumbing, HVAC or Home Services Niche
- A history of attending SEO conference, workshops or webinars and investing in continuous learning
** Remote Work and Equipment Requirements:
This is a Remote Position that requires you have your own Equipment.
** Working Hours:
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Central Standard Time
** Performance Metrics and KPIs:
- Campaign Performance Metrics:
- Organic Traffic Growth: Measure the percentage increase in organic traffic for client websites month-over-month.
- Conversion Rate: Monitor the conversion rates from organic traffic, focusing on leads generated and sales closed.
- Client Retention & Satisfaction:
- Client Satisfaction Score: Collect and analyze feedback from clients to assess their satisfaction with SEO services, aiming for high satisfaction scores.
