Role: Financial Controller
Rate: $11AUD - $13AUD/hr (depending on experience and skill set)
Full-time: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Monday: Start online by 8:30 am (Brisbane time) to attend a 9:00 am Management meeting
Tuesday to Friday: Flexible start time, with a 10:00 am (Brisbane time) start acceptable
Our Client is looking for a dedicated Financial Controller with a minimum of 2 years with Australian bookkeeping.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
- Payroll Management: Process payroll in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy in calculations and compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor performance against budgets, highlighting variances that may require management attention.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure transactions are recorded correctly for GST purposes and valid tax invoices are received from suppliers and contractors. Employee/payroll-related tax compliance is followed.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
- End of Financial Year Financials and Tax Returns Preparation: Prepare
necessary documentation for annual Financials and Tax Returns and liaise with external bookkeeper and company's accountants.
Financial Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Australian accounting.
- Degree in Accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong understanding and experience with Australian tax law.
- Experience with Australian employment regulations and payroll, super & tax
- Software Proficiency: Proficient use of Xero and Excel.
