JOB OVERVIEW

Looking for confident, professional freelance/contract bookkeeper to work remotely, from their office or home, in a friendly cloud-based environment with me in my Melbourne (Australia) based accounting firm.

The role will be on a 20 hours / part-time basis (ideally, Monday to Friday – 1pm to 5pm AEDT Melbourne, Australia time).

You will be able to demonstrate:
• Comprehensive bookkeeping experience using Xero and ideally other systems
• Is proficient in English, with good written and verbal communication to quickly communicate any issues, questions, etc
• Great attention to detail, following instructions and best practices
• An ability to problem solve, efficiently investigate issues and correct your own work or the work of others
• Has appropriate space at their home or office to complete the work with limited interruption and privacy and the following equipment supplied by the contractor:
- Computer/Laptop capable to efficiently operate the software and browser apps with up-to-date internet security software
- Second screen (Ideally because we know this helps with efficiency)
- Adequately fast internet connection as our systems are completely cloud-based and video conferencing will be how we work together

The tasks you will be required to complete are:

Technical:
• Bookkeeping for Australian businesses
• Australian GST legislation (essential)
• Australian accounting principles
• Australian payroll

Systems:
• Proficient in using Xero
• Proficient with Dext(Receipt Bank) or Hubdoc (an advantage)
• Proficient with MS Office Applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word
• Experience in using MYOB, QBO and other accounting systems (an advantage)
• Experience in using Xero Practice Manager (WorkflowMAX) (an advantage)
• Experience in using ClickUp & HubSpot (an advantage)
• Experience in assisting with the setup and implementation of new bookkeeping systems (an advantage)

Aged Receivables:
• Data entry Sales invoices
• Data entry Sales payments
• Reconcile Aged Receivables

Aged Payables:
• Data entry supplier invoices
• Review and upload receipts and invoices via Hubdoc/Dext(Receipt Bank) to Xero
• Data entry supplier payments
• Reconcile Aged Payables

Payroll:
• Setup payroll
• Process payroll
• Process electronic transfers

Liabilities:
• Payment/processing PAYG/IAS/BAS
• Payment/processing Staff super
• Payment/processing loan/s

Reconciliations:
• Bank
• Credit Cards
• Takings clearing accounts
• Payroll - PAYG & Super
• Supplier Statements
• GST control accounts
• Loan accounts

Management Reporting:
• Session, weekly, monthly reporting, quarterly reporting
• Dashboard creation and maintenance
• Maintenance of workpapers

Administrative Support:
• Triage client support requests / email management
• Responding to client enquiries and booking client meetings with other team members
• Maintaining client / internal issues and projects lists
• Preparing client administration manuals
