JOB OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities:

FF&E Design and Specification:
Assist in the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) specifically for hospitality projects.
Collaborate with senior designers to create mood boards, concept presentations, and detailed FF&E schedules tailored to the hospitality industry.
Conduct research on hospitality-specific products, materials, and finishes to ensure high-quality and cost-effective solutions.

Project Support:
Support the design team in developing space plans, layouts, and 3D visualizations for hospitality spaces.
Prepare and maintain detailed FF&E documentation, including purchase orders, budgets, and inventory lists.
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to source and procure FF&E items for hospitality projects through shared client inbox.
Work on assigned design phases within project budgeted hours.
Under the supervision of a Designer, assist in the creation of quality, timely sets of drawings, specifications, budgets, and reports as required by the contract.

Client Interaction:
Participate in client meetings to present FF&E selections and gather feedback specific to hospitality projects.
Assist in preparing client presentations and design proposals focused on hospitality environments.
Ensure client needs and preferences are accurately reflected in the FF&E design for hospitality projects.
Type and issue meeting notes to the Project Manager (based on PM’s hand notes) for external design meetings.

Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with the project team, including architects, project managers, and contractors, to ensure seamless integration of FF&E elements in hospitality spaces.
Support the senior design team in project administration and coordination tasks.
Maintain project files and folders in accordance with Architectural Standards.
Tag images in accordance with Image Library Standards.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

Experience:
1-3 years of experience in interior design, with a focus on FF&E design and specification for hospitality projects.
Familiarity with various design styles, materials, and industry trends specific to the hospitality industry.
Experience with Spexx specification writing software is a plus.

Skills:
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics in hospitality design.
Knowledge of the full design process, including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation.
