We’re seeking a talented and experienced WordPress Developer to work part-time on website projects for local kitchen design companies across the UK.

The successful candidate will work in a small, dynamic team where you can make a real impact. You’ll collaborate closely with the Graphic Design team, the Marketing Operations Manager, and other key team members. (We have other employees from the Philippines in the company.)

Key Responsibilities:
• Update, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites, ensuring high performance and functionality.
• Create and implement new features and functionalities across websites.
• Style and structure websites using advanced CSS to ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
• Conduct troubleshooting and bug fixing across front-end and back-end issues.
• Optimize website performance, including implementing caching, minimising load times, and improving SEO compliance.
• Integrate third-party APIs.
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure seamless integration of visual elements.

Technical Skills Required:
• Proficiency in PHP: Knowledge of PHP for custom WordPress theme and plugin development
• HTML and CSS: Strong skills, including Flexbox and Grid layouts for responsive design
• [removed] Proficiency in JavaScript, with familiarity with libraries like jQuery; knowledge of React is a bonus
• SQL/MySQL: Familiarity with SQL queries
• Performance Optimization: Knowledge of techniques for website speed and performance improvement, including caching, lazy loading, and image optimisation
• SEO Best Practices: Understanding of on-page SEO elements and schema markup, with experience implementing SEO plugins like Yoast
• Security Best Practices: Awareness of WordPress security measures, such as hardening WordPress installations, using SSL, managing user roles, and implementing secure coding practices
• Familiarity with WP-CLI (WordPress Command Line Interface): Ability to use WP-CLI

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate-level education (or equivalent) in a related field with a solid technical foundation
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma for integrating design assets
• Experience in a marketing agency or with multi-client projects
• Knowledge of web hosting environments, DNS, and domain management
• Experience with Squarespace website development
