Retail Account Manager

**Job Title**: Account Manager

**Job Responsibilities**:
The Account Manager will oversee and nurture existing company relationships with key retail customers, such as Wal-Mart, Target, and Amazon, to build long-term partnerships. Acting as the liaison between these customers and the company, this individual will support all aspects of account management and shipping processes, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of incoming orders. Responsibilities include resolving order discrepancies related to shipping, UPCs, quantities, and pricing. The ideal candidate will have experience managing key accounts and possess strong multitasking, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal). Knowledge of EDI order processing and shipping procedures is essential. The role will also involve managing special projects as needed.

**Examples of Job Activities**:
- Access, update, and manage customer databases as required.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of customer compliance requirements, including routing guidelines.
- Process orders, including routing, generating ASNs, and invoicing, via email, web-based portals, or EDI.
- Manage ship dates and inventory availability, coordinating with the Shipping department to ensure complete and on-time deliveries.
- Obtain and verify freight quotes for accuracy against orders.
- Communicate with customers and shipping companies to confirm and coordinate routing and pickups.
- Create small parcel shipment labels and pallet labels with all relevant shipment details, providing them to warehouse staff.
- Handle various tasks related to the role and adapt to new responsibilities as the position evolves.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to address and communicate client needs effectively.

**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma required; a college degree is a plus.
- 2-3 years of customer service experience, preferably handling retail accounts like Wal-Mart, Target, or Amazon.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with QuickBooks and shipping systems (Starship experience is a plus).
- Strong commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with key retailers (e.g., Amazon, Burlington, Bed Bath & Beyond) is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of TrueCommerce is a plus.
- Proficiency in EDI systems.
