We are seeking an experienced Town Planning Expert to assist with planning projects related to development applications (DAs) and Complying Development Certificates (CDCs) in NSW, Australia. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the NSW planning framework, including the NSW Code SEPP, local Environmental Planning Instruments (LEPs), and Development Control Plans (DCPs). The role involves conducting feasibility assessments, preparing Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE), handling Clause 4.6 variations, and managing documentation for DAs and CDCs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive feasibility assessments for CDC and DA projects.
• Prepare detailed and compliant Statements of Environmental Effects (SEE).
• Develop and submit applications for development approvals (DAs) and Complying Development Certificates (CDCs).
• Draft and manage documentation for DAs and CDCs to ensure adherence to planning regulations and requirements.
• Assist in preparing Clause 4.6 variation requests, demonstrating justifications for development standard exceptions.
• Provide expert advice and analysis based on thorough knowledge of the NSW Code SEPP, LEPs, and DCPs.
• Ensure projects meet all residential development requirements and are aligned with state and local planning policies.
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including local councils and certifiers, as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Urban/Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in town planning, particularly within NSW’s regulatory framework.
• Thorough knowledge of the NSW Code SEPP and the ability to interpret LEPs and DCPs for various local council areas.
• Proven experience in preparing and submitting DAs, CDCs, SEEs, and managing Clause 4.6 variations.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
