Legal Assistant to File DMCAs to Copycat Websites

Hello,

I am looking for an assistant to join our team to work 40 hours per week as a legal assistant. Your job will be our unofficial 'internet police detective'. And you will hunt down bad websites who are copying our products and stealing images from our website.

We are a 5 year old brand in the gift space, designing and selling original pet portraits in a range of styles. Unfortunately, our success has led to many websites copying us and launching exact or very similar copies of the products we ourselves have launched. This has led to a huge impact on our business. And we need to fix it.

There are also a number of businesses who have launched using brand names that are too similar to ours. Our brand name is trademark-protected, so we need to submit legal arguments to those whose brand names are too close to ours.

We also own trademarks for a number of product names. Yet some competitors still use those product names. So we need to file complaints to get them to stop using the name.

The ideal candidate will:
• Be fiercely protective of our brand
• Be able to keep an organised spreadsheet of their progress
• Be able to identify businesses and/or products who have copied our brand or business
• Be a natural born fighter, be pro-active, be unstoppable in your work to ring down the copycats
• Be our champion who celebrates winning every fight against every business who is copying us
• Understand the importance of defending our trademarks and original designs and original work
• Be passionate about making sure we remain the number 1 pet art brand in the world!

You should:
• Have previous ecommerce or legal experience
• Any executive assistant experience is also beneficial
• Be comfortable on calls (you will join our weekly stand-up meeting to share progress)

You will be paid $4 per hour to begin with, expecting you to work 40 hours per week.

You will use Teamlogger to log your hours, will be paid weekly, and will use Slack to communicate with me on a daily basis.
