Entry Level UX/UI Website Designer

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a talented and driven entry level UX/UI Designer to help design efficient and intuitive user interfaces for our document management platform and other projects. The right individual will have a desire to learn and ability to work independently, while providing constant communications and updates on project status.

The most important skill for this job is your aesthetic style and the ability to identify and articulate why a user interface is effective in achieving its purpose. The rest of the skills required for this position can be learned over time, and we can direct you on what to study.

With this in mind, it would be helpful for us to understand your thought process. As part of your application, please provide us with examples of user interfaces you find compelling and descriptions as to why. Screenshots of UI/UX’s from video games, websites, etc. are all acceptable examples.

We would also like to see your sense of style. We have provided our color palette below in the DESIGN AESTHETIC section. As part of your application, please provide us with a few examples of imagery that shows automation or technology with this color scheme in mind.

The position is fully remote., but the individual must be available to attend remote meetings a few days a week.

DESIGN AESTHETIC

We’re looking for a designer who can blend engaging, game-inspired visuals with functional, intuitive interfaces, aligning with our brand’s vision to make automation accessible and visually compelling. This role requires a designer with a strong sense of aesthetic who can bring fresh ideas to create a distinctive, yet professional, user experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on current industry methods and trends to ensure that designs align with the latest UX/UI best practices. Report findings to the team and suggest improvements or new approaches based on this research.

Feature Analysis and Implementation Planning: Analyze potential features to identify the most effective methods for implementation. Propose and document these methods, ensuring they align with the design methodology of providing immediate access to related features and minimizing user steps.

Wireframing and Prototyping: Create detailed wireframes and interactive prototypes using Figma that clearly demonstrate UX/UI flow. Ensure that designs are intuitive, user-friendly, and allow users to perform tasks with minimal effort.

UX/UI Flow Optimization: Focus on designing user interfaces that limit the number of steps needed for task completion, promoting an efficient and seamless user experience. Iterate designs based on user feedback and testing to continuously refine and improve the user journey.

Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of succinctly reporting project status, current issues, and forthcoming steps. Communicate design decisions clearly and effectively. Strong command of the English language is essential for effective communication.

User Testing and Feedback Integration: Testing prototypes and live designs to evaluate functionality. Provide and analyze feedback and integrate necessary changes to optimize the user experience.

Graphic and Video Editing: Assist with graphic editing tasks such as the creation of icon sets and other graphics necessary for the functionality of the site. Additionally, contribute to video editing and the creation of feature videos that demonstrate the usability of new feature releases, ensuring they effectively communicate the design's intent and functionality.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, methodologies, and changes in the company’s Gitlab. Ensure that all design decisions are well-documented for future reference and alignment with project goals.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest UX/UI design tools, techniques, and methodologies.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL SETS
UX/UI Principles: Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles, with a focus on user-centered design and creating intuitive user flows.

Figma: Proficiency in Figma, including creating complex wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design systems.
Information Architecture: Ability to organize and structure content to create clear and effective navigation systems.
Graphic Design: Skilled in creating visual elements like icon sets and other graphics necessary for the functionality of the site using open-source tools.

Prototyping: Expertise in creating interactive prototypes that demonstrate the flow and functionality of the design.
Responsive Design: Experience designing for various devices and screen sizes, ensuring a seamless experience across platforms.

USEFUL SKILLS
Video Editing: Proficiency in video editing, particularly using DaVinci Resolve, to assist in the creation of feature videos that demonstrate the usability of new feature releases.


HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The individual must have their own computer and internet access.
