Neurology Solutions Movement Disorders Center is a private movement disorders practice based in Austin, TX that provides comprehensive care and treatment of complex movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, essential tremor, and many other conditions.

Job Title: Virtual Assistant Billing & Scheduling Representative
Summary: Responsible for verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments and scheduling patients by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Reviews patient schedule at least two weeks in advance and identifies any issues.
· Documents all communication with patients as well as extensive reporting in Athena
• Clear various Athena inboxes throughout the day
· Reach out to patients when insurance information needs to be updated, or if a referral is required.
· Obtain insurance verification prior to a patient’s appointment.
· Upon request, prepares and sends the patient’s yearly payment history statements.
· Answer patient billing questions and collects payments.
· Contact patients with past due accounts to collect payment or arrange payment plan.
· Contact insurance companies to obtain explanation of benefits, as needed.
· Respond to inbound
· Ensure there is a full daily schedule by communicating with front office staff, management, and MA’s concerning schedule openings
• Answer a high volume of phone calls regarding patient appointments, follow up to appointments and billing questions
• Reviews the patient schedule and checks in patients

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree required, ideally in the healthcare space
Advanced Athena experience required
5+ years of a combination of billing and scheduling experience, ideally for a small private practice
Language Skills
Ability to read/comprehend instructions and engage in written and verbal correspondence in English. Mastery level of the English language required. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
