We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Quantity Surveyor & Construction Project Coordinator to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Australian residential construction sector. This role ensures that projects are coordinated effectively, schedules are managed, and communication between site supervisors, suppliers, and subcontractors is maintained.
Roles and Responsibilities
Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with contract terms by accurately entering data into schedules, monitoring job timelines, and making necessary amendments to keep projects on track.
Liaison with Site Supervisors: Regularly communicate with site supervisors to ensure that projects are progressing according to plan.
Project Schedule Coordination: Verify that suppliers and subcontractors are engaged and aligned with the project schedule.
Schedule Management: Coordinate and manage schedules to keep all tea
Progress Monitoring: Track the daily progress of ongoing projects and provide detailed weekly updates and reports to senior management.
Document Management: Organise and prepare construction documents and progress reports, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Labour Monitoring: Assist the accounts department by monitoring in-house labour on a weekly basis.
Meeting Planning: Organise and conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Lead and Pre-Construction Job Monitoring: Monitor pre-construction jobs and new leads, making necessary follow-ups as directed.
Ad hoc Administrative Support: Provide additional administrative support as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the projects.
Evaluating a quote and looking at the size and scope of the materials.
Qualifications and Experience/Skills Required
Construction Experience: Experience in the construction industry is required; Australian experience is a significant advantage.
Contract Compliance: Strong understanding of contract administration, including compliance with contract terms, timeline management, and project scheduling.
Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the construction industry in Australia, including processes, regulations, and industry standards is desirable.
