JOB OVERVIEW

Brist Mfg., Washington, USA is seeking a full-time Purchasing Assistant to join our team to join our international custom apparel team to focus on purchase order validation and issuance, vendor follow up, invoice payment management, and other data entry assistance. Desired industry skills include: apparel/textile purchasing or production experience, tech pack and/or bill of material review or creation experience.

This remote independent contractor assignment requires NetSuite or other ERP user experience, data entry experience, supply chain knowledge, advanced mastery of written and spoken English, and the ability to regularly work Brist Mfg. - USA Pacific Time Zone hours Monday - Friday. Skills testing is a part of our process to identify the attention to detail we require at Brist.

Position Summary:
The Purchasing Assistant manages multiple queues in NetSuite (our operating system), reviews and modifies purchase orders for accuracy, issues and manages purchase orders, reviews tech packs for variances, manages factory invoice payment and provides department data entry assistance.

Required Skills/Abilities:
2+ years supply chain and/or purchasing experience
Proficient in math fundamentals
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Advanced mastery of English (spoken and written)
Experience creating and updating purchase orders in NetSuite or similar ERP platform
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Confident to escalate when further support is needed
Flexible, ability to prioritize and manage changes throughout the workday, meet frequent shifts in schedules and department demands
Curious, willing to learn and take on new responsibilities
Ability to learn/navigate functionality within operating systems
Ability to quickly identify errors and solve problems

Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
-Manage multiple queues in ERP (NetSuite) for efficient and on-time execution of purchase order, revisions, and photo uploads
-Review and modify purchase orders for vendor accuracy, cost accuracy, delivery details and ship mode.
-Purchase order issuance including: email purchase order record and details to the factory, follow up on vendor feedback for variances, update applicable system records or escalate variances from factories to manager.
-Review and assess tech packs for accuracy, compare and call out variances using NetSuite for revisions.
-Vendor follow up. Be persistent in chasing due dates with vendors, understand and share vendor call outs for any “at risk” product details or delivery slides alerted by vendor.
-Create, track deadlines, post and modify purchase orders. Support and task-manage supply chain processes from the issuance of the P.O. to exit factory.
-Invoice payment management: gather and validate factory invoices with P.O. records, push back with factories or escalate variances as needed, follow up on accounting inquiries, and issue payment record to factories.
-Provide data entry assistance as needed.
-Other related duties as assigned.
