Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Ad Operations Specialist to join our growing Media Strategy & Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and troubleshooting JavaScript and image tags across various advertiser websites to support their digital advertising and marketing efforts.
This role requires expertise in tag management systems (TMS) like Adobe Launch or Google Tag Manager, and hands-on experience with popular website platforms such as Shopify and WooCommerce. You will work closely with customer success and media buying teams to ensure that all tags are correctly implemented, functional, and effectively supporting digital marketing campaigns.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital advertising or ad operations, prides themselves on having strong attention to detail, and has a deep understanding of dynamic macros and their use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Tag Implementation & Management:
Implement and manage JavaScript and image tags for digital marketing and advertising campaigns across advertiser website platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, etc.).
Utilize dynamic macros to optimize tracking and ensure accurate data collection.
Manage and troubleshoot tags using Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, and similar TMS tools.
Collaborate with customer success, media buying, and integrations teams to ensure seamless tag deployment and adherence to project timelines.
Ensure proper data collection and reporting through tags and pixels to support accurate campaign measurement and audience segmentation.
Troubleshooting & QA:
Diagnose and resolve issues related to tracking pixels, ad tags, and technical campaign problems.
Perform ongoing audits of tag configurations and data flows to ensure they meet industry standards and perform as intended.
Compliance & Best Practices:
Ensure adherence to privacy regulations (such as GDPR and CCPA) when collecting and handling user data through tags and pixels.
Stay up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies in tag management and digital advertising.
Provide recommendations for improving tracking methodologies and campaign setup processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in ad operations, with a solid understanding of ad technology, dynamic macros, and campaign management.
Expertise in tag management systems (i.e. Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch).
Familiarity with tags from programmatic platforms such as Amobee and The Trade Desk.
Familiarity with tags from paid search platforms such as Google and Bing.
Familiarity with tags from paid social platforms such as Meta,
Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, and other web technologies related to tracking and ad tag implementation.
Solid understanding of major website platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, and WordPress for integrating tags and tracking mechanisms.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues related to tagging and tracking.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Familiarity with digital marketing concepts such as conversion tracking, remarketing, and analytics.
Proficient in using Excel, SQL, or other data analysis tools for campaign analysis and reporting.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with programmatic advertising and working knowledge of DSPs and SSPs.
Experience with paid search and paid social advertising.
Familiarity with Google Analytics and other reporting tools.
Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on ad tracking and data collection.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams (marketing, web development, data analytics, and external partners).
