Use instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE model) to create structured, learner-centered course materials.
Develop online learning modules, videos, interactive content, and simulations using e-learning tools.
Apply theories such as Cognitive Load Theory, Deliberate Practice, and adult learning principles to enhance content delivery.
Align educational content with AACN New Essentials guidelines and nursing competencies.
Create rubrics, assessments, and quizzes to evaluate learning outcomes.
Assist in curriculum alignment, ensuring all content supports program objectives and learning outcomes.
Stay updated on nursing education trends and suggest innovative teaching strategies.
Integrate active learning tools such as Kahoot and other interactive elements.
Provide feedback and revisions on course content to ensure clarity, coherence, and alignment with best practices.
Responsibilities (Virtual Assistant):

Manage scheduling and appointments for both professional and personal commitments.
Handle email correspondence and calendar management.
Assist with product ordering, including office supplies and personal needs.
Coordinate meetings, events, and travel as needed.
Perform other administrative tasks to support both work and personal life as needed.
Qualifications:

Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational technology (preferably in nursing or healthcare).
Knowledge of learning management systems (Canvas, Wolters Kluwer, Evolve, etc.) and e-learning tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
Familiarity with nursing education standards and healthcare simulation tools is a plus.
Strong proficiency in multimedia content creation (video editing, graphics, animations).
Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Experience with scheduling, email management, and personal task coordination.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently while meeting deadlines.
Knowledge of Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and APA formatting.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality in all materials produced.
Preferred:

Previous experience designing nursing or healthcare education content.
Background in immersive learning or healthcare simulation spaces.
Familiarity with AACN New Essentials guidelines or other nursing education frameworks.
Flexibility and willingness to handle both instructional design and virtual assistant duties.
Application Process: To apply, please prepare a brief PowerPoint presentation on a route of medication administration (e.g., PO, IV, IM, SC, etc.). The content should come from a well-recognized Nursing Fundamentals or Med-Surg text used in the U.S., such as Perry & Potter or Taylor.

Additionally, respond with the year the UCD School of Nursing began and the name of the school to demonstrate attention to detail.

Please indicate your availability for an interview in the near future in your cover letter.

Hours:
30-40 hours per week, with availability during Pacific Standard Time.

How to Apply:
Please submit your resume, the requested PowerPoint, and a brief cover letter detailing your experience in instructional design, virtual assistant duties, and your availability for an interview.
