JOB OVERVIEW

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Internal Audit Quality Assessor to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring the effectiveness and quality of our internal audit function. The Internal Audit Quality Assessor will be responsible for conducting External Quality Assessments (EQA), Self-Assessment with Independent Validation (SAIV), and other quality assurance activities in compliance with the Global Internal Audit Standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of internal audit practices, gap assessments, and remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

External Quality Assessments (EQA):

Conduct comprehensive External Quality Assessments to evaluate the internal audit function's adherence to the Global Internal Audit Standards.
Prepare detailed reports on EQA findings and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Self-Assessment with Independent Validation (SAIV):

Lead the process of Self-Assessment with Independent Validation to ensure internal audit activities meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.
Validate self-assessment results and provide an objective evaluation of the internal audit function's performance.
Compliance with Global Internal Audit Standards:

Ensure all internal audit activities are performed in compliance with the Global Internal Audit Standards.
Stay updated with changes and updates to the standards and incorporate them into the internal audit process.
Gap Assessments:

Perform gap assessments to identify discrepancies between current practices and established standards.
Develop and implement plans to bridge identified gaps and enhance the internal audit function.
Remediation Activities:

Design and execute remediation plans to address deficiencies and enhance internal audit processes.
Monitor the progress of remediation activities and ensure timely completion.
Continuous Improvement:

Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the internal audit function.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Audit Committee, senior management, and external auditors, to communicate assessment results and recommendations.
Provide training and guidance to internal audit staff on quality assurance and improvement practices.
Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain thorough documentation of all quality assessment activities and findings.
Prepare and present reports to the Audit Committee and senior management.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) would be nice to have
Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, with a focus on quality assessment and improvement.
In-depth knowledge of the Global Internal Audit Standards and quality assurance frameworks.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit management software.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience conducting External Quality Assessments (EQA) and Self-Assessment with Independent Validation (SAIV).
Demonstrated ability to lead gap assessments and remediation activities.
Familiarity with audit management tools and techniques.
