MVP Mailhouse uses a wide variety of marketing strategies and platforms to grow awareness and generate leads from both inbound and outbound marketing. The marketing team’s primary goal is to create and execute a marketing strategy that creates sales-qualified leads as cost-effectively as possible.
POSITION: SEO SPECIALIST
We are looking for a creative SEO Specialist to optimize the content on our website based on analytics and keyword research. The SEO Specialist is responsible for managing all SEO activities including but not limited to: content strategy, link building and keyword strategy. This skilled management is what we need in order to increase rankings on all major search networks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Search Engine Basics: Understand search engine algorithms, indexing, crawling, and ranking processes to enhance site visibility.
- SERP Features: Utilize and optimize various search engine results page (SERP) features such as featured snippets, knowledge panels, and local packs.
- Keyword Identification: Research and select high-value keywords relevant to the website’s niche and audience.
- Search Intent: Analyze and interpret search queries to align content with informational, navigational, or transactional intent.
- Title Tags and Meta Descriptions: Create compelling and optimized titles and descriptions to boost click-through rates (CTR).
- Content Optimization: Develop and structure content with effective keyword usage, headings (H1, H2, etc.), and internal linking to enhance relevance and readability.
- Image Optimization: Optimize images with proper alt text, file names, and compression to improve search visibility and site performance.
- URL Structure: Design clean, keyword-rich URLs that are easily understood by search engines.
- Website Architecture: Ensure logical site structure to facilitate easy navigation and crawling.
- Schema Markup: Implement structured data to improve SERP appearance and enhance search engine understanding of content.
- XML Sitemaps and Robots.txt: Create and optimize sitemaps and robots.txt files to support effective indexing and crawling.
- Link Building: Develop and execute strategies for acquiring high-quality backlinks from reputable sources.
- Google Search Console: Monitor site performance, indexing status, and address issues using Google Search Console.
- Competitor Research: Analyze competitors’ SEO strategies, keyword targeting, and backlink profiles to identify opportunities and threats.
- Avoiding Black Hat Techniques: Avoid and educate on tactics that may lead to search engine penalties (e.g., keyword stuffing, cloaking, link schemes).
- Collaboration with Developers: Work effectively with developers to implement SEO strategies, particularly for sites built with Next.js or similar modern frameworks.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION:
- Proven SEO Experience: Demonstrated expertise in SEO techniques and best practices.
- Performance Marketing Knowledge: Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion optimization, and online customer acquisition.
- Website Analytics: Proficiency with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, Omniture, WebTrends).
- A/B and Multivariate Testing: Experience with designing and analyzing A/B and multivariate experiments.
- Ranking Factors and Algorithms: Deep knowledge of search engine ranking factors and algorithms.
- Current Trends: Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO.
- Technical SEO Skills: Ability to work with web developers, especially on sites built with Next.js, to implement SEO improvements.
- Educational Background: BS/MS degree in a quantitative, test-driven field or related discipline.
