Job Overview:

We are seeking a Financial Controller - Real Estate to join our team. This role ensures the smooth operation of our properties by creating and reviewing budgets, managing accounts payable and receivable, developing incentive plans for leasing agents, calculating monthly property management fees, reporting to the owners, and managing tasks through Appfolio. This role reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
Create and manage monthly budgets for property management.
Oversee cash management processes and review quarterly projection schedules to optimize liquidity.
Implement internal controls, policies and procedures driving operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
Manage accounts payable and receivable efficiently.
Develop and implement a bonus plan for leasing agents.
Calculate monthly property management fees.
Regularly report financial and operational updates to the property owner.
Utilize Appfolio for various property management tasks.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA preferred.
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role in the real estate industry.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis.
Experience with financial software and ERP systems (Appfolio preferred).
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information effectively to non-finance professionals.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
