Job Summary: The Lighting Estimator is responsible for evaluating project specifications and drawings, preparing detailed cost estimates for lighting projects, and working closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of lighting systems and components. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for lighting projects. • Review and assess the quantity and type of lighting materials required for each project. • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing and delivery information. • Prepare and submit accurate and competitive bids for projects. • Coordinate with the sales team to develop proposals that meet client needs and align with company capabilities. • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and cost data. • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and constraints. • Monitor project costs and assist in managing project budgets to ensure profitability. • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. • Proven experience as a Lighting Estimator or similar role. • Strong understanding of lighting systems, components, and installation practices. • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards in the lighting industry. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with AutoCAD or other design software. • Professional certifications related to lighting or estimating (e.g., LC, LEED AP). • Familiarity with energy-efficient lighting technologies and sustainable design practices
