Position: Full-Time Accounting and Inventory Specialist

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (including an unpaid lunch break)

Job Description:

Thornleigh News is seeking a dedicated and skilled Accounting and Inventory Specialist to join our team. This position involves managing invoicing, stock inventory, and ensuring smooth operation of our POS system. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, experience with Xero, and the ability to set up and optimize systems.

Responsibilities:

- Manage all invoicing and ABA creation, balancing, and Excel importation.
- Maintain and utilize the reporting system in Xero, including knowledge of formats.
- Handle stock inventory, including tracking items received and sold.
- Ensure all emailed invoices and statements are drafted and sent accurately.
- Set up and improve existing systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Use POS Solutions effectively, including any setup and troubleshooting required.

Requirements:

- Proven experience with Xero and invoicing.
- Strong knowledge of ABA creation, balancing, and Excel importation.
- Familiarity with POS Solutions and non-MAC operating systems.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to set up and optimize systems beyond current configurations.
- Proficient in the use of WhatsApp for communication, and experience with Upgrade to see actual info/Trello or Asana.
- Competence with Canva, AI tools, and website management.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Sales experience, as the role involves interaction with shop operations.
- Ability to create and manage reports and establish robust systems.
- Experience in social media management, particularly Instagram.
- Skills in website management, including photo uploads and updates.
