Are you resourceful, methodical, and have a keen interest in all manner of consumer products? We are looking for just such an individual to complement our team in product analysis and sourcing. As a Product Sourcing Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending potential suppliers and products that align with our company's needs and standards.

Your primary goal will be to conduct product analysis, with a secondary focus on streamlined end-to-end sourcing, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in our procurement efforts, as well as timely go-to-market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct thorough research on relevant platforms to identify potential suppliers and products relevant to our business requirements.
2. Evaluate suppliers based on various criteria such as product quality, price competitiveness, manufacturing capabilities, and reputation.
3. Communicate with suppliers via email, chat, or phone to gather necessary information, negotiate pricing, and clarify product specifications.
4. Analyze and compare supplier quotations, terms, and conditions to make informed recommendations to the procurement team.
5. Coordinate sample orders to assess product quality and suitability for our needs.
6. Keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, and emerging products to proactively suggest new sourcing opportunities.
7. Maintain accurate records of supplier information, product details, and communication exchanges for future reference.
8. Assist in managing supplier relationships, resolving issues, and optimizing procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as procurement, logistics, and product development to ensure seamless integration of sourced products into our supply chain.
10. Support ad-hoc sourcing projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Requirements:

1. Demonstrable interest in product analysis and sourcing. Relevant experience preferred.
2. Excellent knowledge of market intelligence platform functionalities (e.g. Merchant Word, Jungle Scout), search algorithms, and supplier verification processes.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate product specifications, pricing structures, and supplier capabilities effectively.
4. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English (additional languages are a plus but not necessary).
5. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision in sourcing activities.
6. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while also being a collaborative team player.
7. Proficiency in using productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management software desirable.
8. Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics considerations is advantageous.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
