We're looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our team as an independent contractor. This independent contractor opportunity is a learning function where you directly support the Web Developers while learning about the best coding practices and developing strategies for surviving in the high-paced online marketing world.
Required minimum independent contractor qualifications include, but are not limited to:
- You must be fluent in English (writing, speaking, and reading.)
- Experience or familiarity with the latest versions of HTML and CSS.
- Experience or familiarity with using Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, or a similar program to extract elements from a design to convert to use on a website.
- The ability to cut a design from a file and translate it into a near pixel-perfect HTML and CSS webpage with modern techniques.
- Experience or familiarity with a modern code editor – examples include VSCode, Sublime Text, or something similar.
- Our company operates within the Eastern Time Zone in the US from 8 AM to 5:30 PM*. While we request that our independent contractors be available within this timeframe to ensure effective collaboration and communication, it remains at the sole discretion of the contractor to determine the methods, details, and means of performing the services to meet all agreed-upon deadlines and requirements.
* Additionally, it's important to note that service hours for this independent contractor opportunity will not exceed 40 hours in any given week unless prior approval has been obtained from our CEO or designated company representative.
The following qualifications are nice to have but are not required for the role include but are not limited to:
- BS in Computer Science, a certification from a web development-related Bootcamp, or equivalent work experience, freelance or otherwise.
- Experience or familiarity with any of the latest versions of the following languages: PHP, SQL, JavaScript, Node.js, Twig, Blade,
- Experience or familiarity in any of the latest versions of the following: jQuery, SASS or LESS, Tailwind, React, Angular, Symfony, Laravel, ElasticSearch, Composer, Gulp, NPM, CI/CD, CLI, XML, APIs – either accessing or creating your own
- WordPress development experience, either with extending/creating custom themes or extending/creating custom plugins
- Understanding of version control, either Git or SVN
- AWS services, such as RDS, EC2, S3, CloudFront, IAM, or others
- Experience or familiarity with the following services: Cloudflare, GitHub, GitLab, WP Engine,
- Understanding how to manage DNS records for a domain
- Mobile application experience
- Docker local environment service
- Server administration experience or comfort working within a Linux-based server terminal
