Job Title: Payroll Accountant
Location: New Zealand (Remote)

Our client is a dynamic financial services firm dedicated to providing top-tier financial management, accounting and advisory services to their clients. They pride themselves on innovation, expertise, and excellence in all aspects of finance. They are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join their team. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth financial operations of their clients while actively contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Compliance
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant payroll laws and regulations, taking time to self-educate and ensure payroll practices align with the latest guidelines.
Ensure compliance with policy and legislation is upheld

Payroll Processing
Manage end-to-end payroll across a portfolio of clients, ensuring our client's employees are paid accurately and on time, following required approval and timeline processes.
Answer queries from both internal and external stakeholders Allocate payroll journals to the appropriate department. Process ESOP payroll transactions as requested.
Develop reports and present insights to clients
Provide assistance and support to the wider team

Client Management
Respond to all client queries in an appropriate and timely manner
Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive employee records.
Look for improvements to processes and implement this with the support of the CFO and client.

Reporting
Generate reports as required providing comprehensive and reliable information
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions.

Payroll Processes
Taking ownership of your role of the outsourced payroll function for the company.
Manage relationships with external payroll vendors such as iPayroll. Managing payroll risks and audits.
Report on payroll efficiencies, and insights to drive continuous improvement of a cost-effective payroll service.

Background & Qualifications:
5+ years experience in Payroll.
Great attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organisation skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office and G-Suite product sets.
Professionalism and discretion used.
Qualification in finance or similar.
Experience in multiple different payroll software tools, such as Xero, iPayroll and Smartly.
Great on the phone, and without hesitation finds the fastest and most efficient way to go stuff done.
