Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

What we're looking for:

As a Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer at Aperture Commerce, you will be an integral part of our development team, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of web applications. The successful candidate will have a solid foundation in full-stack development, with expertise in Ruby on Rails, as well as proficiency in languages such as Node.js, PHP, Elixir, and Perl.

Responsibilities:

1. Full Stack Development
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications from concept to deployment.
- Implement front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
- Develop server-side logic using modern back-end technologies such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails.
2. Database Management:
- Design and implement database structures using SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB).
- Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity.
3. API Integration:
- Develop RESTful APIs for seamless communication between front-end and back-end systems.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
4. Code Optimization and Testing:
- Write efficient, reusable, and modular code.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure the reliability and security of applications.
- Collaborate with QA teams to identify and fix bugs and issues.
5. Version Control and Deployment
- Utilize version control systems such as Git for codebase management.
- Manage deployment processes and troubleshoot deployment issues.
6. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers and other developers, to achieve project goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers when necessary.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a focus on Ruby on Rails
- Proficiency in additional languages, including Node.js, PHP, Elixir, and Perl
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with database systems, both SQL and NoSQL
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
