Don’t you find it funny just how the past teaches you about life in
general, and how the present humors you while it reveals what you truly can be?
The punchline, however, is always thrown by the
happens next and how things turn out tomorrow will always hold a surprise for
everyone.
It was in the year 1990 when I was an aspiring youth in search of the
finest university education I could have when I took up the entrance exam for
the College of Architecture at one of the nation's top universities and failed
miserably. Looking back to the events that unfolded during that fateful day, I
should have listened to the proctor, or assessor, who reviewed my exam
results and recommended post-haste that I should venture into a career in
journalism or literature, at best.
To my dismay and in lieu of my broken pride, I took to the next best
university and pushed forward with grit. Eventually, I passed. A semester
after, I found myself on a boat ride back to my origins. Fast forward to some
years thereafter, I graduated from college with a different degree. Marketing.
My name is
a copywriter, and a content writer and have done content and description listings
for products and categories via WordPress. I have also dabbled in SEO, crafted
copies using only the best wares available, as provided by all the previous
employers I have done work for. On the side, I use Canva for graphic layout
creations, logo design, company profile writing, and infographics. Everything is inclined to social media creatives and deliverables.
I will not claim to be the best in this digital industry, but I can
easily adapt to any system and sustain a positive learning curve. I am a self-starter and an enthusiastic team player, and I seek to successfully work on my deliverables
even in the worst conditions and circumstances. Personal aspirations and goals
notwithstanding, my commitment to service are the driving force I have within my
spirit, and yes, I can work the required hours.
I feel that I might not be the perfect fit for each job I apply for in
the virtual world, considering the career shift. But I have since embraced the
advice I first heard in 1990. Those fateful words are now what I
hold precious in this new undertaking, and yes, I hope only for the best. To
fill that niche in no time, where ever it may be.
