My experience as a product researcher is doing different ways to find products like using different kinds of extensions and software and doing manual research.
this is also how I analyze a product to see if it's profitable. there are a lot of things to consider. first, we will have criteria that would fit our needs and this will be a standard for finding the products.
2nd, we will check its competitors if we can compete with it. for this, we will use the Keepa extension under the buybox data.
3rd, we will check if the sales would be enough to cater to the number of sellers and how the buy box rotates on each seller.
4th. we check if the products are only seasonal or not. we check this by checking in Keepa and see if the graph of sales rank is consistently moving or not. Although it is fine to sell seasonal products we make sure that we do a lot of preparation and analysis before listing seasonal products. this also includes the weight and the size of the products we will recommend. since if the products weigh more, the shipping costs more.
5th. we also consider the restrictions of the product using SAS. like for example, if this is PL, Hazardous, gated, or ungated, and see also the ROI, sales, etc...
To find where to buy, we check the validity of the sites, especially if these sites are not familiar. I also wanted to find the cheapest price, but always check if the sites are legit or not.
