Marketing, Sales and Distribution Specialist

As i handled Merchandising/Purchasing Department, our skills on how to effectively buy products are very evident. This is not just ordering with trade partners but also building rapport to negotiate favorable cost of goods and to have a better sales margins.

Since I was working in a retail company, ordering management skills is very important. I was able to not just familiarized with the ordered items but rather to memorized each skus that are available in the market based on the categories I handled. With this, ordering is made easy I know the demands and we can supply.

My position as a merchandising manager has taught me on how to master negotiations. From pricing and costing, promotions and customer relations. I was able to negotiate certain terms even the payment terms that would benefit that company as well as trade.

I handle 12 retail stores or supermarkets for more that 15 years were i maintain and ensuring that inventory levels are on a standard day supply that is enough supply the supermarkets customers.

Part of my Job was to ensure that we know the current trend of this generation and to adjust based on the relevant changes. Before establishing stores in different areas of the Philippines, we need to do market research for us to know that are the requirements and if the area is profitable enough for the business to pursue.

In handling certain department, time management skills is very important as everyday there are rush reports to be submitted. This is aside from the daily report, monthly reports and reports in between. I believed, every time wasted is an opportunity neglect.

Being head of the team does not mean less work, but its about working together with your team. you need to know the basic of a certain job and be knowledgeable enough of every aspects of the department for you to function well. Team Leadership is not just being a leader but you also need to be a follower in order to lead a team.

Performance Marketing are exercise based on the proposed marketing campaigns. This is ensuring that all marketing related task are executed well and making sure that it has an effect to the total performance of sales.

Part of my task as a merchandising manager was to make sure that we know the product we are selling. From buying process down to its benefits and other legal documents.

When you are working in a retail company for a long time, sales management skills is part of your daily routine. From analyzing positive and negative sales down the reason of transaction declines. Even basket sizes or purchases are being check.
