I always believe that a good report is one that is "reconciled" in terms of bank, cash on hand, payables and receivables. I make sure I keep up with these parameters.

I have worked as a Senior Accountant and would relieve the work of a Budget Accountant, Accounts Payable Accountant and Chief Accountant, reason that I am able to appreciate these posts in their contribution to financial system as whole.

Having a Senior Accountant position is one of "trust" so I make sure that financial protocols are in place across levels of an organization. It is important to be able to coordinate by communicating with due diligence considering the kind of culture and work environment you are in. For instance, in other work environment, it is not allowed to send an email "beyond" the regular working hours even if it means it can be read the next day.

I craft my own reports using this format that is relevant to the nature of reports I need especially in the absence of an accounting software. There is so much to learn about this powerful tool.

I have been exposed to doing customized reports like subsidiary ledgers and able to stick to the relevant information for data entries as called for in a particular report.

Accounting is not about being whiz at math while dealing with numbers but for the most part is analysis. So I need to verify, confirm transactions/facts based on the accepted practices and organizational norms.

Outside of the accounting work, I could make rounds if I needed to like doing payments (online/offline), bank deposits, inquire with government agencies, follow-up collections, issue checks, secure needed signatures and the like.

These days, using Google is very helpful in doing reports and forms like Google forms which are convenient in gathering and collating data.

I have tried NetSuite very recently being able to really train on it in 2020.
