Accountant/FinancialController/Certified Forensic Accountant

From day 1 of my accounting career, I have been doing financial accounting, from data entry to finalization.

As a Financial Controller in my previous company (Mammoet ME), Treasury, Fixed Assets, Insurance and Payroll were assigned to me. I have handled 13 companies in the Middle East, Africa and the holding company in the Netherlands. As well as sending report to the holding company, such as Bank Reconciliation, Cash Flow and Working Capital on a monthly basis.

Preparation of Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Cash Flows, Working Capital, Balance Sheets Schedules, Expense Analyses, Fixed Assets Reports and other ad hoc reports required by the Finance and Managing Directors of the region and head office requirements. Checks payments to suppliers, which is scheduled twice a month, monthly customers ageing reports, bank reconciliation, accruals and amortization, makes sure payroll entry is posted for the month, etc.

Prepares the business plan for the year by summarizing the expenses prepared by the department's heads. Gathers information of Revenue from Sales and Marketing department, Salary Cost from Payroll & Humar Resource department, Depreciation from the Asset Registered maintain by Finance Department, cost of repairs from Maintenance Department, operational cost from Operations Department. all other costs also contributed by Legal Department for legal fees, assistants of directors, receptionist for office supplies, etc. Out of the data gathered, I prepare Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Asset Register, Cash Flow & working Capital reports. All of these were being revised in a quarterly basis based on actual and change in forecast.

As a lead of Finance Department, I am part of the internal audit team. Aside from making sure my own department is ready for both internal and external audit. I audit other departments as prescribed by the global audit team. We are given specific areas to audit and submit reports regarding the outcome of the audit semi-annually (Mar and Sep of each year before the external audit). This is to make sure everything is checked and corrected or in place going forward.

As the Regional Financial Controller of Middle East and Africa in Mammoet, I was in-charge of the overall budget management of the region together with the accountants of each of the 13 entities in the region. Together, we prepare monthly variance reports. While we do the budget preparation annually and revise it on a quarterly basis.

I make sure that ageing reports were generated on a monthly basis for each entity to check whether or not clients were paying on time. This affects the company's working capital; it is very important to collect money on time. I resolve payment disputes to the best of my ability by calling or visiting clients and talk about it whatever issues we are facing. In cases that there were unresolvable payment disputes, I forward it to Legal Department. Moreover, I checked invoices before sending to the clients and make sure that entries were posted correctly specially if there were taxes involved.

I was in=charge of the payroll execution, checking and bank verification on a monthly basis for the region. Made sure that employees were paid correctly and on time.

I handled Accounts Payable when I was employed by IWSPC for 5 years. And with Mammoet, I handled Treasury, which include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and maintaining all bank accounts. Checking payments and bank verification of all vendors were part of my responsibilities. I made sure that payments were correct based on approved supporting documents and on time. Made sure that Payable Administrators were paying to the verified vendor's bank account.

From the time I was hired in Dec 1994 by IWSPC in the Phils., I have been using Microsoft Excel. I think with the span of 28 years or working, I already mastered the use of it. Cannot give 4 or 5 stars as I have already used all of it. But of course, I am still willing to advance in learning more to make my daily task easier than ever.

When I was employed at International Wiring Systems (Phils.) Corp., I handled taxation such as Income tax, Salary Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Input & Output VAT, Withholding Taxes, etc.

Bank reconciliation was one of my forte. Actually, the rate skill proficiency is 5 stars but cannot rate it in the system because I have consumed all the 3 five stars for the other skills I have listed. Since the very beginning of my accounting career, I am already reconciling bank transactions.

I actually can use and operate and generate most of its functions regarding financial statements, treasury, fixed assets, payroll, insurances, etc. Rate is 3 because I have already consumed my 4 stars and 5 stars.
