I used to be a financial support advisor (more like a collection advisor) for an international bank. I was handling UK customers who are in debt with the bank, and my key responsibilities are: giving financial advice to customers who are in financial difficulty; signposting them to an external organization for further help, especially if the customer needs help claiming any government benefits; conducting a thorough assessment of their finances to understand their financial situation; and agreeing on a repayment option based on what they can afford. By doing so, I need to ensure I provide them with an excellent customer service experience all throughout our conversation, being respectful in conveying my message to them considering that most of them are emotional due to financial hardship.
Prior to working as a financial advisor, I used to work as an Amazon customer service specialist for nearly 5 years. What I do on a daily basis is provide customer service, answer calls, and make sure to resolve customer problems regarding their orders at the first point of contact. I also call the carrier to get an update on the status of the package and issue a replacement or refund if deemed necessary.
Experience: Less than 6 months
I have always been very keen on detail, especially during my time as a collections advisor. It was an essential skill, as I needed to ensure that everything had been looked into before agreeing to any arrangement with the customer to make sure that whatever arrangement agreed would not be detrimental to them.

I'm proud to say that with the help of my previous job as a financial support advisor (more like a collection advisor), I was able to enhance my decision-making skills, as this job role requires a lot of them. Making sure that the most appropriate outcome is provided to each and every customer has been my goal, as I know that if an incorrect outcome is given to them, this will be detrimental not just to their finances but would also affect their physical and mental health.

I am an organized person, and I also value other people's time. If I am asked to do something, I see to it that it is done before the given due date.
