Profile Description

I was a patient coordinator in an orthopedic office in California and did various tasks such as scheduling, medical records requests, obtaining referrals, authorizations, and other administrative tasks.

I was previously part of the worker's comp billing team AR where I posted cheques from the payments we received from worker's comp insurance such as Zurich, Corvel, Gallagher, and more. I was also assigned to create LOAs (letters of appeals) for the denials we received in services such as office visits, acupuncture, UDT, and MMR. I was also a Healthcare Virtual Assistant for both ENT and Behavioral providers where I did Virtual Frontdesk tasks, such as scheduling and rescheduling, appointment cancellation, payment collection, and refill requests. I also do Eligibility and Benefits Verification for patients scheduled for appointments. I checked portals and called insurance to make sure that the patient had active coverage, obtain the patient's responsibility, and see if the codes were billable or if it needed prior authorization by the time service was being rendered by the provider. I am experienced in posting insurance and patient payments.  

I have also been a Medical Billing Collection Specialist(Account Receivable Rep). My tasks include calling patients to collect balances and updating addresses to make sure statements are mailed to the correct address, investigating claims that were initially denied by the insurance and resolving them by sending amended claims, appeals with proper documents needed, verifying and charging the patients' responsibilities such as deductibles, co-insurance, and copay using the credit card on file.
