Profile Description

I am a Degree holder in Education majoring in Social Studies and performed a variety of activities such as conducting focus group discussions, field research, and writing a research proposals in my early years as an employee. After 5 years I realized that I wanted to be the boss' right hand and work with high-level executives at a company to provide top-level assistance. I applied as Executive Assistant in one of the insurance company in South Africa, and was hired and trusted with more high-end or complex duties. With this I oversaw checking & screening the CEO's emails, scheduling meetings, maintaining complex filing systems and databases, and confidential document review and preparation. Overseeing other staff for a particular project was part of my job too. My superior relied on my organizational skills. I handled all domestic and international travel reservations of the CEO, other executives, and even gov't officials. I have handled incoming and outgoing communication, filing, and even accounting work. This shows I am a multi-tasker. I was expected to follow instructions from the CEO as he was my immediate. My ability to understand those instructions with little or no follow-up has been appreciated by my boss. Also, I needed to relate messages or instructions to others based on my superior. By being keen on details, good listening and communication skills ensured that the information was relayed correctly to the person/s-in-charge. I can say I have good interpersonal skills. I worked directly not just with the CEO but also served as the first line of communication between my boss and other offices, communicating with clients, other employees, and upper management.
