Job Description
As a Link Building Manager, you will manage a team of link builders, ensure the quality of link-building activities, and adapt to new strategies as required. You will oversee campaigns, prospect for quality backlink opportunities, and ensure team success by providing guidance, support, and performance tracking. Strong communication skills and a deep understanding of SEO tools and techniques are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Lead a team of link builders, set performance goals, and track progress against quotas.
Campaign Strategy: Develop and execute link-building strategies tailored to client goals and industry requirements.
Prospecting: Use tools like Ahrefs, Moz, and SEMrush to identify high-quality, relevant sites for outreach (e.g., for assets like Blue Tally’s nonprofit page).
Outreach & Relationship Management: Guide the team in outreach efforts, ensuring adherence to client guidelines (e.g., DR30+, organic traffic 1,000+ from the US/UK, etc.). Evaluate link prospects (e.g., Futuramo) by analyzing domain metrics, keywords, and site quality.
Content Development: Oversee outreach content creation (e.g.,
Negotiation: Strategically negotiate pricing for high-value backlinks, even on limited budgets.
Assessment: Evaluate target sites for relevance and quality based on specific campaign needs (e.g., assessing link insert opportunities for Embarque’s “buy niche edits” page).
Adaptability: Adapt team processes to shifting strategies, including mastering new tools and techniques for SEO.

Example Tasks You’ll Manage:
Prospecting for Backlinks: Identify relevant, high-quality websites using Ahrefs or other SEO tools for campaigns like Blue Tally’s asset management software.
Evaluating Sites for Campaign Suitability: Assess websites like Futuramo based on domain metrics, organic traffic, and content quality, ensuring they meet client requirements (e.g., DR30+, 1,000+ US/UK organic traffic).
Creative Outreach: Devise outreach ideas and craft
Negotiation: Develop negotiation strategies to secure valuable backlinks within tight budgets.
Link Inserts: Analyze the relevance of pages (e.g., Inksem for Embarque) and recommend anchor text placements that enhance SEO performance.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in SEO, with a focus on link-building and team management.
Proven experience in managing successful outreach and link-building campaigns.
Expertise in SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, and Google Analytics.
Strong analytical skills to assess website quality, backlink opportunities, and keyword performance.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to guide outreach efforts and team collaboration.
Ability to adapt to changing strategies and tools, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Preferred:
Experience negotiating backlink pricing and securing high-value placements.
