Reports To: Billing Manager
Position Type: Full-Time, 2 months gig but can become a long term position

The Purpose of Your Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our billing team. The EOB Biller will be responsible for filing explanation of Benefits (EOB), preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all claims, and following up on any issues related to payment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing and coding, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Success Indicators/KPI’s
Achieve a 95% claim approval rate on the first submission
Resolve 100% of billing discrepancies within 48 business hours
Maintain a 98?curacy rate in billing documentation
Pass 100% of internal and external audits with no major findings.
Competencies
Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR)
Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and coding procedures
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities
Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations.
Review and verify patient billing information, including coding, charges, and insurance details.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving any issues to ensure timely payment.
Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries and discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and organized billing records and documentation.
Reconcile billing accounts and prepare reports for management.
Stay up-to-date with changes in insurance regulations and billing practices.
Assist with other billing and administrative tasks as needed.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Expertise You Have
Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
Strong understanding of medical billing and coding procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in billing software and EHR systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing
Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB)
Experience with various insurance providers and billing systems
Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes
